Information about Gijs Wuyts and his kennel

In 1986 Gwen’s parents bought their 1st Siberian Husky. Gwen was only 5 and started learning about this very special breed. In 1998 unfortunately Gwen’s parents had to put him asleep because of a tumour. Gwen was travelling in the US and her parents went to visit almost all the breeders in Belgium. In April '99 they bought a brother and sister from Chefornak's kennel. When Gwen came back from the US in summer 99 she discovered Chefornak's Yorki and Chefornak's Yucca. And this was the beginning of a new passion... Gwen’s family first bought a step for her dad @ Xmas. Then she started running as well. She also started going to shows and learn about handling. One year later Gwen’s parents bought 2 sisters Zinga & Zanouk. Of course Gwen had to compete in the races with her dad. So in 2002 she started to run with 2 Alaskan Malamutes Tennessee Of Keema's Wolf Pak & Xsiris Of Keema's Wolf Pak and also started to appreciate this breed. In summer 05 I fell in love with Gijs and his malamutes. Gijs started out in 99 with his first malamute, Yanuk, from Howling Pack’s Kennel, just by looking for an active dog to run with. Mayko soon joined Yanuk, and 2 years later Yortak & Yutah. Then Gijs started running with the cart and sled, and he was completely sold! Yogi joined also, and in May 2005 Yekona completed the pack. In December 05 Gwen bought her first huskies: Chefornak's Charkolito and Chefornak's Ethna. And last but not least in 2009 we purchased a very promising husky in Italy: Ayuka’s Great Akela. Today we all live together with our 10 sled dogs. We enjoy mushing, handling and even obedience.

We are breeding Alaskan Malamutes and Siberian Huskies. All our dogs are sled dogs and show dogs with a great behaviour. Our puppies are raised with love and are socialized for different lifestyles. Through this site you will discover our dogs and different activities (Mushing, Shows, Obedience,...).
